Prairie View A&M University Awards Enterprise Application Management Services RFP to OculusIT

Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is a public historically black land-grant university in Prairie View, Texas. Founded in 1876, it is one of ’”” ’Texas’s two land-grant universities and the second oldest public institution of higher learning in the state.

PVAMU boasts more than 70-degree programs through its eight colleges and schools, including engineering, natural sciences, business, the arts, nursing, and criminal and juvenile justice.

PVAMU required an experienced Managed ERP Services partner that could consult the university and augment its Banner^® environment. In addition to this, ongoing investment in time-consuming and expensive upgrades, PVAMU’s systems prohibited users from quickly adopting and benefiting from powerful new application functionality.

PVAMU recognized that streamlining operating functions and services is a major requirement to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. For this, PVAMU Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE) released an RFP in June 2021 to partner with an ERP expert company for Enterprise Application Management Services, including Banner^® Managed Services, system administration, and ensure secure services, qualified personnel for ad-hoc projects and training.

After numerous internal committee discussions and evaluation, PVAMU awarded the RFP to OculusIT in September 2021 for three years with two years renewal.
