Ohlone College Selects OculusIT for Virtual CISO-as-a-Service

SUMMIT, NEW JERSEY, February 2, 2023 – Ohlone College, the Fremont, California based community college, has expanded its relationship with OculusIT to include virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) Services to implement cybersecurity best practices on campus. OculusIT has been supporting higher education for more than 15 years with IT leadership and managed IT services including Security Operations Center, Network Operations Center, ERP managed Services, Identity and Access Management, response solutions, and more.

When Ohlone College sought out an experienced managed security services provider to further fortify its current cybersecurity measures and protect student and institutional data, it turned to existing partner, OculusIT. Currently, OculusIT supports Ohlone College with Oculus IT EYE, a 24×7 Security Operations Center.

Ohlone College will leverage the benefits of OculusIT’s virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) Services for expert, independent, and unbiased review of risk, compliance, and security methodologies. The vCISO will serve as an information security liaison to auditors, assessors, and third parties and oversee policy development and recommendations with NIST, SANS, ISACA, and ISC2 requirements. Ensuring industry best practices are maintained, the vCISO will also provide a cybersecurity roadmap with strategic guidance to the institution.
