This position supports the effective and optimized use of enterprise applications including the Jenzabar® Student Information System (SIS) – providing functional user support to meet business and systems security requirements. The position works closely with different departments to
understand current needs and provide technical assistance addressing requirements, issues, or questions with supported information systems. In addition, this position consults with end users to understand and optimize business processes to assist them in becoming more efficient and effective users of the systems while ensuring system compliance and data integrity.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for software systems utilized by the institution, providing setup, configuration, problem solving, and updates.
  • Works on Jenzabar® functional requirements for modules including General, Student, A/R, Financial Aid, Finance and Registration; as well as add-on modules including JICS, JFA, and Advancement.
  • Performs business / software systems requirement analysis. Gathers functional and technical requirements from stakeholders/functional users to produce workflows and technical specifications.
  • Assists end users with identifying data integration points and functional dependencies within the supported information systems and other third-party systems.
  • Analyzes and meets functional needs by applying technical solutions; ensures system interfaces/operations and accesses comply with information security policy and procedures.
  • Supports the prioritization of technology support requests, projects, and upgrades for the assigned functional area with input from functional and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comprehensively documents systems, integrations, and support procedures.
  • Provides training and support to end users.
  • Creates test plans to document the scope and results of testing. Works with business areas to get testing completed in a timely manner.
  • Provided systems analysis and problem-solving support to maintain normal operation of the administrative applications.
  • Updates ticket tracking database with pertinent information until resolution.
  • Works to integrate Jenzabar® with other systems.
  • Develops and enhances reports using SSRS and InfoMaker.
  • Builds and enhances SQL queries and stored procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with computer or information technologies.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Experience working with Jenzabar or other Student Information Management Systems.
  • Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills with emphasis on high customer service satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills to diagnose problems in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Proven adaptability and flexibility with an emphasis on thinking through varying approaches to solve complex problems by examining different angles to produce recommendations and solutions.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and written skills.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts/processes into simple language.
  • Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies for Information Technology analysis to evaluate current and/or proposed systems.
  • Experience with SQL and report writers.
  • Experience with system integration.
